Volatility Stars

Institutional hedging detection. Volatility Stars identifies correlated volatility events by tracking simultaneous spikes in VIX and VXN. When both indices spike together, it's a regime-shift signal: broad risk is being repriced, not just rotated.

What the "Star" is telling you

• Hedging is active: institutions are adjusting exposure; liquidity conditions and behavior shift.
• Decision-point context: the signal is most useful at meaningful locations (key levels, extremes, prior day arrays).
• Not a standalone entry: it's a high-impact filter and context tool (when to press vs stand down).

How to interpret it (context first)

• Overextended down + star: potential capitulation/hedging near lows → reversal context if price begins to stabilize.
• At all-time highs + star: caution signal—hedging into highs; risk of sharp repricing increases.
• Extreme whipsaw + star: prioritize risk control and patience; wait for volatility to compress before executing.

Expansion Zones

Statistical range projections. Expansion Zones maps expected intraday delivery from the daily open using net change and standard deviation. It gives you objective "where" (targets and extremes) so you stop guessing.

Core concept

• Net change-based: focuses on directional close relative to open (institutional execution relevance), not just high-low range.
• Probability zones: as price reaches higher deviations, continuation becomes less probable and risk/reward changes.

How traders use it

• Objective targets: manage winners into zones (partials, runners, exit planning).
• Chase filter: avoid "late" entries once price is already statistically stretched.
• Reaction map: identify where price is likely to stall, reject, or accelerate further (context dependent).

The complete institutional VWAP system. VWAP Engine is built around how institutions measure execution and define fair value. It combines multi-timeframe VWAPs, deviation bands, and execution VWAPs to give you a mechanical framework for context and timing.

The three VWAP components

• Extended VWAPs: "memory" levels from prior timeframe VWAP closes that often behave like support/resistance.
• Institutional VWAPs: multi-timeframe VWAP with deviation bands to quantify stretch and mean reversion odds.
• Execution VWAPs: rolling VWAPs used for reclaim/breakdown confirmation and entry timing (structure + flow).

Deviation bands (why they matter)

• ±1 SD: normal flow / comfort zone
• ±2 SD: statistically stretched; mean reversion algorithms become more active
• ±3 SD: extreme; reversal probability increases and risk is adjusted
• ±4 SD: outlier zone (often news / structural shifts) → caution and selectivity

Compression + Absorption

Institutional entry mechanism. Compression ranges reveal where price is being held in a tight box while liquidity is absorbed. When the range resolves, you get a mechanical breakout/failure model with defined risk and measured expansion targets.

Why compression matters

• Institutions need liquidity. Large positions are built in tight ranges where the market can absorb flow.
• No compression = low institutional interest. Levels get wicked and price continues without structure.
• Compression is actionable because risk is defined. The box gives you invalidation and measured expansion.

What the indicator provides

• Clear compression boundaries (risk framework + decision point)
• Directional bias based on participation during the range
• Measured expansion targets projected from the compression range
• Breakout grading to prioritize stronger, higher-quality resolves

Two primary trade models

• Regular breakout: range resolves and closes with acceptance → trade in the direction of the break with box-structured invalidation.
• Failure / "BPR" model: initial break fails (trap) → reversal breaks the opposite side and expands with fuel from trapped participants.

Orderflow+

Real-time institutional orderflow classification. Orderflow+ classifies bars by the relationship between volume and price range, so you can instantly see whether the market is expanding, absorbing, quiet, or in normal two-way flow.

Core classifications

• High Volume (Blue): expansion bar — participation is driving direction.
• Absorption (Red): high volume with tight range — institutions absorbing flow (key edge).
• Low Volume (Yellow): minimal participation — dead zones / low quality conditions.
• Normal Volume (Gray): baseline flow — healthy trends often show mostly gray with periodic blue.

Rejection candles

• Rejection Candle (Lime): wick/close structure showing clean rejection of highs/lows.
• When this triggers, it overrides volume color so reversal prints are visually obvious at key locations.

How traders use it (mechanical)

• Spot absorption early: repeated red prints at a level = real positioning, not random noise.
• Confirm acceptance: blue prints during breakout = participation is pushing through the range.
• Avoid chop: low-quality flow (yellow) is usually not worth forcing trades into.
• Validate reversal location: rejection candles at VWAP extremes / expansion extremes increase setup quality.

Common patterns

• Failed Breakout: sweep then close back inside → rejection / trap
• Valid Breakout: sweep then close outside → acceptance
• Inside Bar: contraction/indecision
• "Judas" sweeps: liquidity taken on both sides → high signal when paired with location
